Kathy Waller and Geoff Duncan Bring Public-Private Perspectives to SkillPointe Foundation Board of Directors

ATLANTA – The SkillPointe Foundation, a leading national not-for-profit organization, proudly announces that Geoff Duncan, former Lieutenant Governor of Georgia, and Kathy Waller, Executive Director of the Atlanta Committee for Progress and former CFO of The Coca-Cola Company, have joined its board of directors.

The SkillPointe Foundation partners with leading organizations to lift up aspiring workers and grow skilled talent pipelines. The Foundation’s workforce solutions center around at-scale vocational scholarships for individuals of all backgrounds pursuing high-demand careers not requiring a four-year degree.

Major industries served include construction, transportation, healthcare, energy, and manufacturing.

 

The addition of Kathy Waller and Geoff Duncan will help advance SkillPointe Foundation’s national growth and expansion into public-private partnerships. 

 

Kathy Waller brings over 35 years of extensive financial and operational leadership experience, most notably as the former Chief Financial Officer and President of Enabling Services at The Coca-Cola Company. She is currently the Executive Director of the Atlanta Committee for Progress, an organization committed to providing leadership on the key issues important to economic growth and inclusion for all citizens in the City of Atlanta. Waller serves on the board of several companies including Delta Air Lines, CGI Group, Cadence Bancorporation and Beyond Meat. 

 

Geoff Duncan began his legislative career in 2012 and was elected Lieutenant Governor of Georgia in 2018, serving until 2023. Throughout his career, Duncan used a bipartisan approach that helped him advance effective policy in the areas of healthcare, public safety, technology, and economic development. Notably, Duncan has advocated for solutions that involve cooperation between private and public entities.

During its first three years, The SkillPointe Foundation has raised nearly $4 Million to fund more than 1,000 vocational scholarships across fifty states. 

 

More than 95% of the Foundation’s scholarship recipients have completed or are still pursuing training, and median post-training income increases are +$23,000 to +$41,000 per year. Half of scholarship recipients have household incomes below $25,000 per year; 60% represent minority groups.

 

SkillPointe Foundation partners include Ball, The Home Depot Foundation, ECMC Foundation, PulteGroup, Schneider Electric, Southwire, The Truist Foundation, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and others. With their help, SkillPointe Foundation is empowering individuals while enabling economic growth.
